No Friday night play. We will have a Homerun derby Friday night starting at 7pm and any teams wanting to check can do so then too.
Rosters lock Monday
We will do the bracket by Wednesday at the latest.
Thread StarterIs it true that the equalizer rule is not in effect even thought there are about six lower teams that were invited to play? If it's not, we should be allowed to have more than two drop downs on our rec rosters, just an opinion.
I agree with Tommy. Its not an issue that a few lower teams with low winning percentages got an invite, the issue is, the equalizer rule has been in effect all year when playing a team that has higher classification than you, so it shouldn't change. If we can not get the equalizer rule, then we should have the option of having more than 2 drop downs!! Point taken since we are gonna be playing teams that have more than 2 classified lower players on their rosters playing these lower teams. Either give us equalizer or allow more than 2 drop downs
I can only agree if it's teams that have competed all season long in the lower division we have to find that happy median. How do we only rate two drop downs and they have an entire roster of lower players? Hope we can figure something out to level the playing field.
Or here's an idea....
If you aren't or have never played in a damn Rec tournament, then take your butts to the lower division and stop sandbagging on those teams who are just forming and just startin off! It should be embarrassing for better players to come down and pick on weaker teams just to say they "won" something. And if you were playing Lower and was getting your butts handed to you all year or was winning then keep your butt there and continue with what you originally intended upon... It's like getting your butt whipped in high school by your rival on Friday just to scrimmage the JV on Tuesday just to get your confidence back... Leave the Rec to the occasional teams and those once a month players...
I feel that the teams that got bumped to lower got bumped for a reason. They had to have been dominating in rec to get moved. Now it's mess like this is why teams were bitching this weekend in SSAA gold teams playing rec E world's. 4 players from this years 6th place d Utrip world's in Florida on one team. This is what makes teams not want to play. Allow 4 drop downs for the rec teams bc rule states that once your team gets moved to lower and you get labeled lower that it takes 1 year away from al fsa events to get 're classed. 2 drop downs is all that's allowed then how can a whole team of drop downs be allowed to play.
I will agree with some of this. But how do u bump a team after 2 tournaments and yes finishing first but that was in 2014. Now yes their are a few lower teams in this tournament and the equalizer rule is an ok rule but not 11 guys on field. Take the 5 runs. Now for some teams that have finshed 1st in USSSA state championship in E and playing in Rec national tournament. But everyone knows there isnt a rec player in this myrtle beach tournament. So good luck to every team but lets just play ball and if u want to sandbag then go to another sanction. Cause FREEDOM has been legit all year. I have no comment on other sanctions. But any team want to show me a rec player then he would be hitting a single wall bat and never played ball before. JUST SAYING
